| MGPA announce lease renewal with Sony |
28 May 2009 - MGPA, the private equity real estate investment advisory company today announce the leasing of the Skyline Plaza Building, Amsterdam to global electronics company Sony Benelux, B.V (Sony). Sony intends to use the building as their flagship HQ for the Benelux region with new products on display to the general public. Sony is an existing tenant and have today committed to a new 6,900 square metres lease for a period of 12 years. The office building, located in close proximity to Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam with an area of 21,778 square metres, is a high specification building. It benefits from excellent transport links and prominence to the airport and the A4 and A9 highway. MGPA acquired the Skyline Plaza Building as part of a sale and leaseback deal with Sony in 2006 for EUR121.1 million on behalf of MGPA Europe Fund II. The portfolio of office and logistics properties spans six European countries including the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and Italy. MGPA Asset Manager, Andrew Rose said, “The lease with Sony Benelux B.V. illustrates the quality of the building and its prominent position next to Schiphol Airport. We are delighted with Sony’s renewed commitment to the building and believe that this will provide a platform for other companies to occupy the remaining 4,000 square metres in this excellent location” |
