Jim Quille, Executive Chairman

Jim is Chairman of the Board of Directors of MGPA and serves on the GP Boards of the Funds MGPA advises and is actively involved in the setting of MGPA’s business and corporate objectives. Jim was previously Chief Executive Officer, having effected the formation of the joint venture with Macquarie Group, creating MGPA, after he led the management buyout of Lend Lease Corporation’s Global Property Investment fund unit in February 2004. Jim has over thirty three years’ experience in the real estate sector and in the last twenty two years has been directly involved in real estate funds management in both the listed and private equity sectors in Asia, Europe, the US, Australia and Latin America. Prior to establishing MGPA, he worked within the Lend Lease Group as a director of Real Estate Investments. |
Simon Treacy, Group CEO

Simon’s responsibilities include the strategic management of MGPA worldwide as well as overseeing all MGPA advised funds and investment vehicles. He was previously Chief Executive Officer – Asia Investments and prior to that, he was responsible for the day to day operations of MGPA Asia Fund II and MGPA Asia Fund III, after having being Country Manager for Japan where he established MGPA operations over a six year period. Simon is a founding shareholder of MGPA and has twenty one years’ industry experience, including thirteen years’ experience in real estate. Prior to joining MGPA Simon worked with the Lend Lease Group in various investment management roles across financial services, infrastructure and real estate investment. Simon moved from Australia to Asia in 1996 and has experience across the region and has lived in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan and China. Simon has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Griffith University, Brisbane in Australia. Simon is a global trustee for Urban Land Institute and chairman of ULI for South Asia, a region which includes the Indian sub-continent, Australia and New Zealand, and all of South East Asia. |
Andrew Wood, Executive Director

Andrew sits on the Board of Directors of MGPA Limited and is actively involved in the setting of MGPA’s business and corporate objectives. Andrew is a founding shareholder of MGPA and was previously Chief Investment Officer. He has over forty years’ experience in the real estate sector in the UK and Continental Europe, Asia and the US. Prior to joining MGPA, Andrew worked for Lend Lease Real Estate Investments as a Principal where he was responsible for fund management, investor relations and product development. Andrew is a Counsellor of Real Estate in the US and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in the UK. He is also a member of the Advisory Board to the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington, Seattle. |
Tom Lee, Group CFO

Tom is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of MGPA and funds it advises globally. Tom has sixteen years of financial and commercial experience whilst working in Singapore, the UK, the US and Australia. The past thirteen years have been exclusively dedicated to real estate. Prior to joining MGPA, Tom was Chief Financial Officer for Lend Lease’s real estate development operations in Europe. He qualified as a chartered accountant whilst working at KPMG. Tom has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia. |
Neil Jones, Group COO

Neil’s responsibilities include assisting the Group CEO in developing MGPA’s global strategy and focusing on the efficiency and effectiveness of the operating platform. Neil is a founding shareholder of MGPA and has over twenty three years’ operating, finance and risk management experience working in Singapore, Hong Kong, the UK, the US and Australia, of which the last twelve years have been spent in the real estate sector. Prior to joining MGPA, Neil worked for Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, Inc as Senior Vice President and was a Senior Group Manager with Ernst & Young. Neil has a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia), a post-graduate Investment Diploma with the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia. |
Alex Jeffrey, Chief Investment Officer

Alex is responsible for investment strategy, investment policy and the investment approval process within MGPA worldwide. In addition he leads the firm’s Capital and Investor Services group, which incorporates investor relations, client services, product development, research, capital raising, and marketing and communications. Alex has twenty two years’ experience in investment management and banking, of which the past thirteen years have been exclusively dedicated to real estate. Alex is a founding shareholder of MGPA, he previously worked for Lend Lease Corporation as General Manager – Corporate Finance where he was responsible for capital transaction activity globally. Prior to that Alex spent eleven years in various banking and real estate roles at HSBC and JP Morgan. Alex has an MA (Hons) in Law from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from INSEAD. |
Stuart Greaves, General Counsel

Stuart Greaves is the General Counsel of MGPA. In this role Stuart is responsible for the global legal function of MGPA. Stuart has over 14 years legal experience. Prior to joining MGPA Stuart worked for Australian firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques and most recently, Clifford Chance LLP in London. In these roles Stuart acted on a broad range of corporate matters across a number of industries including infrastructure, energy and real estate and whilst at Clifford Chance specialised in domestic and cross-border corporate M&A, acting for corporates, private equity houses and investment banks. Stuart has considerable history with MGPA having advised MGPA since 2005 (whilst employed by Clifford Chance) and later joining MGPA in January 2010. Stuart holds a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) from La Trobe University in Australia. Stuart also holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. Stuart is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales and as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Federal Courts and High Court of Australia. |
John Saunders, Chief Executive Officer – Asia

John is responsible for the management of MGPA’s Asian operations, excluding Japan, as well as the oversight of the day to day operations of the MGPA Asia Fund II and MGPA Asia Fund III portfolios. John has nearly twenty five years experience in the property industry, the last sixteen years of which have been in Hong Kong. Prior to joining MGPA John worked for Credit Lyonnais Securities running their regional property research, as well as being instrumental in the start of their property fund on which he served as an investment committee member. John is a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. |
Greg Lapham, Chief Financial Officer – Asia

Greg is the Chief Financial Officer for Asia. He is responsible for all of the financial aspects of Asia Investments and has an oversight role over the Asia Developments business. |
Brett Straatemeier, Chief Operating Officer – Asia

Brett is the Chief Operating Officer for Asia. His responsibilities include investment acquisition and management activities throughout Asia. Brett is a founding shareholder of MGPA and has twenty five years’ experience in the real estate sector in property investment, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and asset management. He has been involved in investments in Australia, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in the retail, office, residential, hospitality and industrial sectors. Brett has a Bachelor of Administration from Griffith University, Australia and is a member of CPA Australia. |
Tom Mills, Chief Executive Officer – Japan

Tom Mills is CEO Japan. In this role Tom is responsible for the management of Japan’s operations. Tom has fourteen years experience in real estate in Asia and the United States. Prior to joining MGPA, Tom was Executive Director of the real estate group at UBS and served as Senior Executive Officer in the joint venture between UBS and Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo which manages two J-REITs. Tom was a member of the joint venture’s investment committee for the J-REITs from 2004 which oversaw in excess of US$6billion of real estate acquisitions. Prior to his career at UBS, Tom worked in the real estate industry, including at Lend Lease Real Estate Investments in Berkeley, California. During his time at Lend Lease, Tom was seconded to work with us at MGPA in Japan for several months during 2002/3 to support the successful acquisition of MGPA's Sogo Tokyo office portfolio. Tom is Harvard educated with an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley with majors in real estate and finance. Tom is fluent in Japanese and has lived in Tokyo for many years throughout his career. |
Helen Powell, Chief Financial Officer – Japan

Helen is responsible for all the financial aspects of the Japan business unit. She has nineteen years’ experience in the financial services industry including fourteen years in real estate, with extensive experience in structuring and transaction management for real estate funds and their investments across a number of jurisdictions. Prior to joining MGPA, Helen worked for Doughty Hanson & Co where she had overall responsibility for all financial, tax and regulatory matters for their real estate funds. This included acting as primary focal point for all aspects of transaction structuring, working closely with transaction teams, in-house counsel and external tax & legal advisers, for acquisitions, dispositions, re-financings and restructurings in a number of European jurisdictions. Prior to this Helen was a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Group in both Australia and the UK. Helen has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Bristol in the UK and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. |
Shigeaki Shigemasa, Chief Operating Officer – Japan

Mr Shigemasa's responsibilities include capital transactions and asset management activities in Japan. Mr Shigemasa has twenty-eight years’ experience in the real estate sector. Prior to joining MGPA Japan, he worked with Sumitomo Realty & Development for twenty-one years, including eleven years in the US as president of a Sumitomo subsidiary. Mr Shigemasa has significant experience in commercial property capital transactions, having advised in respect of the closing of in excess of JPY300 billion of transactions in Japan alone. He also has significant experience in managing office buildings as well as residential development. Mr Shigemasa has a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Tokyo in Japan. |
Digby Okell, Chairman – Europe

Digby provides operational support for the Chief Executive Officer for Europe and is involved in strategy development for MGPA’s European business. He was previously Chief Operating Officer for Europe and was responsible for the acquisition and asset management operations for all of MGPA’s European funds. Digby is a founding shareholder of MGPA and has over thirty years’ experience in the real estate sector. Prior to establishing MGPA, Digby worked in the investment management, asset management, development and project management disciplines across the Lend Lease Group. He has experience in managing investments in Asia, the UK, Europe, Australia and South Africa. Digby has a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying from Natal University in South Africa. |
Laurent Luccioni, Chief Executive Officer – Europe

Laurent is responsible for the management of MGPA’s European operation as well as the oversight of the day to day operations of the MGPA Europe Fund II and MGPA Europe Fund III portfolios and the pan-European investment programme for MGPA Europe Fund III. Laurent has over fifteen years’ experience in real estate development and finance in both the UK and the US. Prior to joining MGPA he worked for Cherokee Investment Partners, focusing on acquisition and business development in the US and Europe. Laurent has a Ph.D. (Hons) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a Masters in Business Administration with distinction in Finance and Accounting from the JL Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Laurent was selected as a PREA scholar and awarded the Chookaszian Prize in Risk Management. |
Steve Willingham, Chief Financial Officer – Europe

Steve’s responsibilities include accounting and financial reporting activities, the development of fund finance strategies with regard to capital management, foreign currency & interest rate hedging and the assessment of all real estate transactions for the European Funds. He also manages MGPA’s debt financing relationships and exposures. Steve has almost twenty three years’ experience in the real estate finance and investment markets. Prior to joining MGPA, he worked for Merrill Lynch as a Managing Director of Global Principal Investments, where he managed the team responsible for European real estate investment. Earlier roles included Managing Director - Real Estate Finance and Securitisation (Merrill Lynch), Head of Structured Property Finance and Head of Fund Management (both at Nationwide Building Society). Steve has a Masters in Business Administration from Henley Management College and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. |
